The doggie paddle will be the stroke of choice next Saturday, Sept. 5, for the annual Doggie Paddle to close the Jefferson municipal. Canine swim time is 1 to 4 pm. As in previous years, there will be a canine swimsuit contest.
There is a $4 charge per dog, with proceeds going to Animal Protection and Education (APE) charity to fund low cost spay and neuter clinics for dogs and cats. There is no admission charge for humans with dogs, and a donation will be gratefully accepted from those not holding leashes.
